There are gym bullies who appear to feel as if they own the place, it’s amazing any of us normal people can get a workout in at all. Here’s the thing, feeling intimidated at the gym happens, because you allow it to happen. Yup. I just said that.
Whether you’re a man or a woman, the gym can be a scary place. It can be hard to get beyond feeling intimidated at the gym because of a sea of fit bodies in their fashion-first gym attire.

Accept your Body
Confronting your body issues may be tough. The gym’s mirrors and harsh lighting can make you notice things that you haven’t seen before. Sort of like the fitting room at Nordstrom.
Nevertheless, it’s important to learn to love your body and all of its flaws where it is today. Your body is changing daily. Love it daily.
- Remind yourself that each person’s body is unique and has its own imperfections, but these imperfections help make us the wonderful beings we are. Love your body. It’s part of your awesomeness!

Ignore the Bullies
Unfortunately, some gyms have resident bullies or know-it-alls who can make you feel terrible. Although gyms are supposed to be for adults, sometimes they are a bit like the playground in elementary school. Don’t allow it.

- It’s important to remember that bullies thrive on attention and your reaction. Avoid giving them the satisfaction of knowing that their words have hurt you. Instead, ignore them and rise above their remarks about your slowness on a machine or whatever.
